Boston, MA, November 28, 2022 – Eric J. Parker, co-founding partner of Boston personal injury law firm Parker Scheer LLP, has helped establish a Law Emergency Term Scholarship Fund to support 2L and/or 3L student(s) facing unexpected financial challenges and who need extra financial aid. The idea to create the scholarship fund was co-established by Suffolk University Law School Professor Joseph W. Glannon, and Glannon and Parker each gifted 50% of the dollars needed to establish the fund. Both also pledged to support the fund as part of an annual gift to the university to help law students in need.
The scholarship fund will be available to Suffolk University law students beginning later this year. The school’s Office of Student Financial Services will determine which student or students should receive the additional funds, and in what amount, after consulting with the law school’s Dean of Students Office.
Parker is 1986 graduate of Suffolk University Law School and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the law school, where he teaches advanced tort litigation. He is also a current member of the Suffolk University Law School “Deans Cabinet” and served as an elected member of the Law School’s Alumni Board of Directors. As a senior partner at Parker Scheer LLP, he brings over 35 years of experience in complex personal injury trial work. He represents adults and children injured or killed as a result of defectively designed or manufactured products, as well as victims of medical malpractice, nursing home abuse and neglect, defective premises, serious motor vehicle negligence, and aviation-related accidents.
